On June 30, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Spanish Senate member Urko Aiartza Azurtza, who was accompanied by Eduardo Lorenzo Ochoa, Chairman of the European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA). Greeting the guest, the Armenian FM underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of bilateral relations. In addition, he welcomed the Spanish senator’s visit to Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic), and stressed that such visits enable to get first-hand information on the Karabakh conflict and the current situation. Senator Azurtza, for his part, stressed that his visit to Armenia and Artsakh was very important to him, and assured him that he would continue his efforts to further deepen cooperation between Armenia and Spain. In turn, Nalbandian briefed the Spain Senate member on the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries towards finding a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The interlocutors also exchanged views on Armenia-European Union cooperation.
