The lack of public transportation has become one of the major problems in the village of Sipanik in Ararat region. Nara Petrosyan, one of the residents of the village, says her children study in Yerevan and encounter a lot of difficulties every day because of transport. You can hardly find any means of transport after 4p.m. Many have to take a taxi to get to the destination. “Only my husband works in our family and we have to pay 50-60% of his wages on transport. God forbid you feel bad or get sick, you will have to stay at home if you have no money to pay for a taxi: as there is no transport to take you to the neighbouring Hovtashen village,” she said.
