Aram Karapetyan agrees with Serzh Sargsyan on one thing

Chairman of the New Times Party (NZhK), Aram Karapetyan, agrees with Serzh Sargsyan on one issue: there is no need to protect Karabakh from him [Serzh Sargsyan] on the way to joining the Customs Union, it is not only offensive but also absurd. “What has Serzh Sargsyan done that can be protected or not? In world politics, problems are not solved only by signing internal arrangements. If tomorrow Serzh Sargsyan announces that Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan and even if Putin, Bush, Obama say the same thing, nothing will change. The issue can be resolved either by force/war or by satisfying the conflicting sides or we shall witness the events happening in Ukraine today, which I fear most,” said Mr Karapetyan. The NZhK leader says we needn’t push for the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh. It is Azerbaijan that should care about having Customs borders. And if Azerbaijan agrees to join the Customs Union, the next day we should a common border. Besides, it will be prohibited to carry out military and punitive actions. Regarding the 12 claims of the non-governing forces, Mr Karapetyan said the primary goal of the four forces was to overthrown Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan which became reality. He also added that three of the four opposition forces are against Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU).
