Election results invalidated based on proxy’s report

The results of elections held in Kout community in Gegharkunik region on June 8 were declared invalid based on the report of Sevak Ghazaryan, a proxy of candidate Andranik Hakhumyan.

Hermine Harutyunyan, Spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, told A1+ that the proxy had applied to the Territorial Election Commission with a demand to invalidate the election results or name Andranik Hakhumyan as winner.

Two candidates were running in the elections – the acting headman of Kout, Mejlum Israyelyan, and nonpartisan candidate Andranuk Hakhumyan, who received the same amount of votes (61). One ballot was recognized invalid.

The revote of elections in the community is set for June 29, 2014
