Exhibition of Sergei Parajanov's works to be held in New York City

An exhibition of the works of Sergei Parajanov, a great Armenian film director who created a new artistic style of cinema, will open at the Gilbert Albert Showroom in New York City. The exhibition arranged within the framework of events marking the 90th birth anniversary of the renowned filmmaker and scriptwriter will open during an annual Russian festival called "Our Heritage" that opened on Sunday. The organizers believe that the event will contribute to the maintenance of peaceful relations between Russia and the United States. June is declared Russian Heritage Month in New York City and it usually brings Russian culture to NY residents, showcasing the best of Russian music, art, fashion, film and culinary highlights in a dizzying variety of events. The festival opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, with Mayor Bill de Blasio delivering a welcome speech. The festival is orgnaised by the Russian American Foundation (RAF).
