Members of the Union of Self-Determination Union (AIM) today held a march in Yerevan, vociferating “No to Customs Union,” “We want free and independent Armenia.” In this way, they showed their disapproval of Armenia’s intention to join the Russian-led Customs Union.
“We see our future within the European Union and to go against the EU means to go against the development and security of the Armenian people,” says AIM Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan.
The group said they do not want to live in a despotic country; therefore they had taken to the street. “We want to stop emigration and we want to see everyone protected in Armenia,” said one of the participants of the march.
“We want to live in a civilized world,” said another participant.
