Russia has exerted moral pressure on Armenia through the lips of journalist Dmitry Kiselyov, Director Ara Shirinyan told A1+ on Friday.
“Russia’s goal is to involve Armenia, in a disgraceful way, into the new Russian Empire called the Eurasian Union,” he said.
Ara Shirinyan notes that during the meeting with the Russian journalist in the Armenian parliament were to give an adequate response instead of justifying themselves by saying that Armenian have a high level of knowledge of the Russian language,
“I think this is a blow to the internal affairs of an independent state, and we should give a formal reply to the statement,” said Mr Shirinyan.
To avoid the accession to the European Union, the director sees two options. “Either Serzh Sargsyan should resign thereby showing Russia his disapproval of the European Union or people should take to the street to show that Serzh Sargsyan is not identical with Armenia and cannot take decisions for the Armenian people.”
