Judge leaves courtroom in the middle of the sitting
The situation was very tense during today’s court hearing in the case of reserve colonel Volodya Avetisyan. Despite the fact that Gagik Sarukhyan, a member of the initiative group “In Defence of Volodya Avetisyan” had called for silence before the start of the sitting, passions heated up during the trial. While the prosecutor was reading out the leaked phone conversation of the retired colonel, someone chucked infuriating Judge Levon Avetisyan. He ordered that the citizen introduce himself and said, “Do not hide behind the skirts of women.” Angered by the words, the freedom fighters demanded that the judge apologize for his words. The judge left the courtroom, ordering that the citizens be removed from the courtroom.
