EUROPEANS LIKED ARMENIA

Culture

”It’s the best occasion for the European intellectuals to recognize Armenia and to introduce it to the world”, Hasmik Poghosyan, Co-Chair of AOKS announced during presentation of “Literary Ark”.

On the initiative of AOKS October 2-14, 2001, 13 European writers arrived in Armenia and “Liberty Ark” was the result of their visit.

The book consisting of 5 parts is reporting rather than literary. Translator Armen Hovhannissyan thinks the book creates the real picture of our country in the eyes of other people. Irish writer Ann Havertin wrote that Armenia is the paradise, and the Armenians are icons.

Translator David Muradyan thinks the book title symbolizes that Noah’s offspring wandered off, and on the threshold of the new millennium they were to return to the point of departure, to Ararat”.

Hasmik Poghosyan said that in the middle of April within “Literary Bridges-2004” the Iranian writer will be the guests in Armenia.
