Republican lawmaker Arakel Movsisyan was invited on Monday to the Ethics Committee of the National Assembly to explain his ill-treatment of journalists. However, the MP did not show up.
On April 15, the Ethics Committee heard the journalists’ complaint of the lawmaker’s behaviour.
Talking to Pastinfo News Agency after the closed-door sitting, Chairman of the Ethics Committee Hovhannes Sahakyan said that the complaint shall be studied no later than June 2.
The journalists appealed to the Ethics Committee following a December 23 incident at the National Assembly during which MP Arakel Movsisyan called journalists who organized a protest in parliament ‘monkeys.’
