On May 17, 1954, Braun won his suit filed to U.S. Supreme Court against educational committee of one of the country's states.

The committee has decided to separate secondary schools for black and white children in a clear violation of the Constitution.

The jury verdict put an end to a vicious practice of separate study.

The United States marks 50th anniversary of that landmark decision. Today, President Bush said today in his national address the nation remembers those nine jurors who helped to put the equality principle into reality.

A week-long movie festival dedicated to Afro-American History is to be open in Yerevan on Monday.

The festival’s first movie, “Amistad” is to be showed today night in “Moscow” cinema. The money got from showing movies will be given to charity.
