Former Chief of Yerevan Administration Investigation Department of RA Police arrested

According to the report of a citizen Arsen P., a criminal case has been instituted in the Special Investigation Department of the Republic of Armenia based on the materials prepared in the Criminal Investigation General Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia under Article 311, Part 4, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, the SIS Press Service reports. The preliminary investigation revealed that a former chief of Yerevan Administration Investigation Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Kamisar Poghosyan by using his official position demanded and received from Arsen P. a substantial amount of money as a bribe totaling 7000 US dollars for mediating and assisting his appointment to the post of an Inspector of “Traffic Police” Service of the Republic of Armenia. Kamisar Poghosyan has been arrested. The Preliminary Investigation Body has doubts as to the fact that other citizens might have sustained damages by Kamisar Poghosyan’s actions, who may apply to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia or telephone 010 511-601 and 010 511-609. A preliminary investigation is under way. A person suspected or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proved guilty in the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of RA by the effective court judgement.
