Blank billboards: Advertisers say they affect municipal budget as well (video)
Why is the number of empty billboards increasing in Yerevan? The question is raised by companies engaged in advertising activities. They say the Yerevan Municipality is not carrying out the right policy. The city authorities have increased billboard costs per a square meter from AMD 500 to AMD 2000. Araz Baghdasaryan, Head of the External Design and Advertising Department of the Municipality, is surprised to hear the complaints of advertising agencies. "We offer the best prices," he says. However, advertisers say that the prices affect their agencies and consequently the state. The lower the prices are, the more advertisers the will attract and the more money will go to the budget. Municipality says this option is not acceptable for them.
