Charges levied against Vernissage shooter

The man arrested in connection with Saturday’s shooting in Yerevan has been charged under two articles, Pastinfo news agency reports. Gor Arakelyan, a son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party’s lawmaker Karo Karapetyan, is charged with attempted murder of two and illegal possession of firearms. On May 17, Arakelyan (born in 1985) shot and wounded five people in Yerevan’s Vardanants Street, near Vernissage. On May 18, he turned himself in to police, surrendering his Makarov pistol.
