Every year on February 14 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Tyarnendaraj – Introduction to the Lord. But the festive measures start on the eve. During the evening service on February 13 fields and gardens are blessed, which symbolizes end of winter and beginning of spring.

Garegin II, the Catholicos of all the Armenians proclaimed Tyarnendaraj as the Blessing Day of all the Newly Married Couples. On February 14 all Churches bless them to consolidate the alliance of their love and faithfulness.

Under the habit, people visit the newly-married ones with presents.
