Republican lawmakers overtly vote for their absent colleagues

Armenia’s parliament today adopted the bill on making amendments to the Law on Procurement and State and Official Secrets with 65 votes in favour, 41 against and 2 abstentions. The non-governing factions in parliament yesterday expressed their disapproval of the bill, saying it ensures a new source for corruption. The legislature also put to a vote a number of bills discussed on Thursday, with Republican MPs Arkadi Hambardzumyan, Murad Muradyan and Hamlet Harutyunyan voting for their absent friends. And although they saw journalists watching their work, they did not feel constrained at all.
