U.S. Embassy in Armenia has commented on its Twitter page on the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick where the latter named ‘six elements’ for the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the ensuing sharp criticism.
“Those who criticize Warlick should remember that any settlement of the conflict through negotiations implies certain compromises,” said the Embassy.
In another post, the Embassy stressed that there are three possible options for the Karabakh peace deal – a negotiated settlement, long-term unacceptable status quo or war. “Choose the peaceful settlement of the conflict,” said the Embassy.
“If the conflicting sides continue to press for their demands, it will take them long to reach the settlement,” said the Embassy.
