PIANISTS TO COMPETE IN INTERNATIONAL CONTEST SOON

Piano music performance international competition is to be held from November 23 to 30 by Armenian Culture Ministry in association with Yerevan State Conservatory and “Aram Khachatryan – 100” fund in Yerevan.

27 pianists, 15 of which are Armenians have been chosen for the competition. Musicians from Greece, Georgia, United States, Russia, Ukraine and Belgium will take part in the contest.

Gala concert and awards ceremonies are scheduled for November 30. The first prize of 15,000 USD will be awarded to a winner. The second makes 10,000 USD and the third – 5,000. Three contenders who enter the third round are to be given 2,000 USD each.

Culture Ministry has allocated 46 million drams for the event, the rest means have been given by sponsors.
