33 candidates vie to be Mayor
Two candidates have registered to run the mayor’s race in Armenia’s Goris City. Both Tigran Karapetyan and Hrayr Yolyan are self-nominated, the Central Election Commission reports. Tigran Karapetyan is the Executive Director of Goris GAMMA Ltd, while Hrayr Yolyan heads Shani Ltd. Elections to local self-government bodies are scheduled to be held on June 8 in 55 communities in Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shitrak, Syunik and Vayorts Dzor regions. In 37 communities, residents will elect community heads and in 30 communities - members of the Council of Elders. Registration of candidates will continue until May 9. Already 33 candidates have registered for mayoral elections.
