Eurovision 2014: Armenia's Aram MP3 qualifies for final (video)

The First Semi-Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest took place in the B&W Hallerne in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening. Sixteen countries took part in the First Semi-Final in order to qualify for ten places available in Saturday's final. Ten of them became winners – Montenegro, Hungary, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, an Maria, Ukraine, Sweden, Netherlands and Iceland. Armenia’s representative at the song contest, Aram MP3 performed the song Not Alone. Before the show, Aram MP3 wrote on his Twitter account that he was in a good mood and hoped that he would sing well. On Tuesday, world-famous singer Charles Aznavour wished success to Aram MP3 at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. “Dear Aram, “You are going to have the adventure of Eurovision. You seem to be a very good choice to represent Armenia. I am sure that besides Armenia’s population, the Armenian Diaspora will enthusiastically support you before television sets, and as warmly as do women in our country, pray for you, being proud to have a guy from us to represent us at this global event. I wish you the best and would be myself with my family on tenterhooks, crossing our fingers in front of the TV set. We count on you to show that a hundred years after what happened to us we continue to represent our country on the international stage.” The result was determined by way of a 50/50 split between national expert juries and televoting.
