PORTRAIT EXHIBITION

Culture

An exposition opened in the Artists’ Union. The works of Armenian painters were represented to it. Portraits of various styles were exhibited. According to Karen Aghamyan, Chairman of Artists’ Union, about 100 painters represented their works.

When choosing portraits for the exhibition, the committee took into consideration the proper high education of a painter and the artistic quality of a portrait. There were classic portraits, busts and handmade works there.

Painter Vladimir Hakobyan represented his self-portrait, an obscure picture. “A poet expresses his feelings though words, and a painter through colours. I have expressed joy and sorrow in my life. That’s the final work”, the painter said.

On July 15 an exhibition of young painters is planned. Works of artists up to 35 will be shown there.
