The exhibition opened in “Arame” art gallery is called “New collection 2014”. Besides the works of classics, Armenian contemporary painters’ works are also represented. 50 paintings and 20 sculptures are represented at the exhibition. “The main objective of the exhibition is to show our new collection. This time we have much to show. We have obtained 10 masterpieces of Armenian classical authors Garzu, Zhasmen and Gayane Khachtryan, which haven’t been shown before in Armenia. We tried to combine classical and contemporary painting to show the creative ties of generations,”- said the founder-director of “Arame” art gallery Aram Sargsyan. To the question what must be done for developing our culture, Mr. Sargsyan answered, “The artist must have the opportunity to show his art. We create relevant conditions in order that talented painters can become renowned in the society.” Painter Marat Margaryan presented “Yerevan in the morning” and “Yerevan at night” paintings. The painter notes, “Today many prefer to paint Paris and forget about our country. So I tried to paint my Yerevan.” Another young painter Avetis Khachatryan told, “I painted myself. On one painting I depicted the heroes of my tale, and on the another- the woman whom I always desired.” We note that the exhibition will continue until May 25.
