TIGRAN LILOYAN AS A PHILATELIST

Culture

The 10th sitting of the Philatelists’ Union of Armenia discussed the urgent problems of postage stamp collectors, which took place on June 1 in Yerevan.

The organisation having rich traditions, has come to the conference in a very complicated situation. Because of financial, economical, and other problems the cells of the Union to the cities and provinces of Armenia have practically broken up.

High face-value of Armenian stamps makes them inaccessible for large masses of collectors, and for children, first of all.

Despite the difficulties, the philatelists of Armenia have recently partaken in many international exhibitions, winning medals and other prises. Now they expect support of Armenian president and Government, compatriots from Diaspora.

The sitting elected journalist Tigran Liloyan as the new Chair of Philatelists’ Union of Armenia.
