Armen Sargsyan appointed Advisor to Defence Minister
Armen Sargsyan, the brother of Armenian Sparapet (Commander)Vazgen Sargsyan, has been appointed Advisor to Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Spokesman for the Defence Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan told A1+. Armen Sargsyan will deal with issues of freedom fighters. Vazgen Sargsyan was a famous Armenian military commander and politician slain during the October 1999 parliamentary carnage. He served as Defence Minister of Armenia from 1991 to 1992 and from 1995 to 1999. He served as the country's Prime Minister from 11 June 1999 until his assassination on 27 October of that year.
