Disabled boy cannot receive passport (video)
Representatives of Gyumri’s Shirak Centre NGO recently visited the Ghazaryans who live in extreme poverty in the city’s ‘domik’ district - a temporary housing district formed in the city after the 1988 devastating earthquake. The ‘domik,’wagon-like temporary tin house, the family lives in belongs to a distant family. Before that, the family lived in a rundown house that became unfit for living. All the three members of the family have a disability. The 17-year-old boy, the only child of the family, cannot get a passport because he is not registered anywhere. For the same reason, the family is denied social benefits. Today they live on disability pensions and the money received from the sale of glass and plastic items found in nearby dumps.
