Armenians in Istanbul to commemorate Armenian Genocide
A series of events are scheduled to be held in Istanbul in commemoration of the 99th anniversary of Armenian genocide. The events will kick off at 10 am when a commemoration ceremony led by the "Platform for the Commemoration of 24 April's Armenian Genocide" will be held outside the Haydarpaşa terminal for Armenian intellectuals who were sent to death from the terminal. At 13.00, Sevag Balıkçı who was murdered on 24 April 2011 will be remembered at his graveyard. This will be followed by a mass commemoration to be held at Taksim Square at 19.15 on the same day.
