Day of Silence observed today

Social
silence

Starting 1996, the third Friday of April has been celebrated as the Day of Silence. The main purpose of the Day of Silence is to call public attention to violence, intolerance, harassment, discrimination issues at educational institutions and develop effective steps for their elimination. Public Information and Need of Knowledge NGO in Armenia joined the campaign in 2010 and has been observing the Day of Silence ever since. On this day, the NGO observes silence for all people who have no opportunity to speak about the discrimination against them. On April 18, 2014, the NGO will not be available for the world: they will not answer e-mails and phone calls or provide any service.
