HAK: The main task of the opposition quartet is to overthrow the Sargsyan-led regime.
The opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) has issued a statement saying that the ultimate goal of the opposition quartet is to overthrow the Sargsyan-led regime. In light of the current difficult political situation in Armenia and thanks to the ultimatum presented by the four opposition parties in parliament – Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia Party, Heritage and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) – Serzh Sargsyan forced Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan to tender his resignation. On April 13, Serzh Sargsyan appointed [Parliament Speaker] Hovik Abrahamyan as new prime minister. The responsibility of the authorities’ sins and failures falls upon the Republican majority led by Serzh Sargsyan. We should not wait until the formation of the new cabinet to express our attitude to the government. The illegitimate and corrupt authorities led by Serzh Sargsyan are unable to propose any program for developing Armenia and have lost the right to form a government. We do not refuse the programs presented by the prime minister or any minister but we deny the rigged right of the Republican majority to form a government in Armenia. Therefore, we believe that the main task of the opposition quartet is to overthrow the Sargsyan-led regime.
