Serzh Sargsyan introduces new prime minister to Cabinet (video)
Serzh Sargsyan introduced Monday the newly-appointed prime minister to the members of Cabinet. “As you know, yesterday I appointed [parliament Speaker] Hovik Abrahamyan, who enjoys the confidence of most lawmakers, as the country’s prime minister. The media yesterday dwelled on all processes and problems that the prime minister and the new government have to resolve. The government continues its activities after the appointment of the prime minister; therefore I request that the cabinet members discharge their duties conscientiously and in good faith. Together with the prime minister we shall form a new cabinet within twenty days. We shall speak in detail of the problems then,” he said, congratulating Mr Abrahamyan on the new office and wishing him success. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked Serzh Sargsyan for the trust and confidence and asked the acting ministers to continue working with the same vigor until the formation of the new cabinet. “Mr President, I want to inform my colleagues that we do not have any bias against or in favor of any candidate. Within the timeframes prescribed by the Constitution, we will introduce the composition of the new cabinet. The approach will be based on the result of the work the cabinet members carried out in the past years, as well as their ability to implement new programs in the future. Thank you,” said Mr Abrahamyan.
