Politics is also a great show, and the show that started in Armenia is getting more and more interesting, former member of the Supreme Council Azat Arshakyan said on Friday. “We were really tired of the atmosphere that was called the lukewarm,” he told reporters. Mr Arshakyan says there a new political course in Armenia. “Serzh Sargsyan said, “I offer you a new thing but in case it does not work, you will be no better off than at the start,” he said. Republican MP Mkrtich Minasyan, another participant of today’s press conference, considered it very important that Serzh Sargsyan is will not run for presidency for a third term or be a candidate for the post of the prime minister even if the country adopts the parliamentary system. Minasyan says the statement should be welcomed not for the person it was made by but as a standpoint. Armenia is not Azerbaijan. Nor is it an eastern khanate and democratic processes are irreversible in Armenia,” he stressed. Speaking about the meeting of the leaders of Armenian National Congress (HAK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and Heritage, the Republican lawmaker said Levon Ter-Petrosyan (HAK) and Gagik Tsarukyan (BHK) are realizing their political objectives. He ruled out BHK’s likelihood to appear in the next government.
