INFERTILITY BECOMES URGENT PROBLEM

Culture

Armenian Government approved draft law on health and human rights. Health Minister Ararat Mkrtchyan attaches a great importance to this law, as infertility rate in Armenia is increasingly climbing up. 32 men in Armenia can’t have a baby. The law stipulates women’s right for artificial insemination.

The minister says, so far, the problem is being solved by trilateral consent between parents and medical centre. But, the issue is in need to be placed on legal field to protect rights of infertile couples.

Artificial insemination could be performed in a number of Yerevan’s clinics having at their disposal proper equipment and specialists. Clients shouldn’t pay for donor examination and other procedures.
