Shahen Harutyunyan, the son of Tseghakron Party Chairman Shant Harutyunyan, has been charged with hooliganism. Shahen Harutyunyan, 15, informed A1+ of the charges from a police department. The charges are file within the framework of a criminal case against Shahen’s father Shant Harutyunyan, an opposition activist who was arrested in November 2013 during clashes with security forces in Yerevan. Shahen told us that he did not have an advocate and was with his mother. The preventive measure is still unknown. Harutyunyan was detained on November 5 as he attempted to head to the Presidential Office together with a group of supporters to ‘blow up the building’ as he had earlier stated. He faces charges over using violence against a representative of the authorities (Article 316.2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia). Earlier this week, police investigators dropped the accusation carrying between 5 and 10 years in prison and charged her Shant Harutyunyan with hooliganism.
