Heavy snowfall blocked roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Transport and Communication reports that there are impassable and closed roadways in Armenia after Sunday’s heavy snowfall in the country. Sotk-Karvachar, Berd-Chambarak, Saralanj-Hankavan roadways, Vardenyats Pass and some secions of Artavaz, Zar, Nurnus and Bjni villages in Kotayk region are blocked. Frosts and fogs are reported in some regions. Motorists are advised against driving on these raods without winter tyres. The Department for Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Interior Ministry reports that the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is blocked for all vehicles.
