Frostbite alert for Armenia as temperature sets to drop (video)

Snow is expected in most parts of Armenia on March30, with ice and sleet covering roadways across the country, says Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Head of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Hydro-Meteorological Service Centre.

“A swirling mass of Arctic air is moving to our region from the Barents sea. The temperature will drop by10-15 in the republic on Sunday evening,” he said.

The specialist says frostbite is expected in Ararat plain, Tavus and Syunik regions where apricot trees blossomed 15 days ahead of their normal flowering season.

The temperature will increase starting April 1.
