Iran's new government has adopted a policy that leads to Europe. Will Russia attempt to hinder the process? Talking to reporters in Yerevan, Iranian Armenian journalist Rubik Minasyan, said Russia will use its levers in order to undermine the dialogue between Iran and G8. In the given situation, Russia may use Armenia as a weapon in the fight against Iran. The journalist says Iran is becoming a serious factor in the region for it supplies gas to Europe. Rubik Minasyan says Armenia would benefit if it purchased gas from Iran. In conclusion, he stressed that Iran does not have an Armenian community as such.  Once there were 40 000 – 50 000 Armenians living in the country but the number has declined sharply, with most Armenians migrating to Europe.
