After Crimea’s succession to Russia, Turkey feels even more isolated, says Turkologist Artak Shakaryan. “Moscow has changed the Black Sea balance in favor of Russia,” he said commenting on Russia-Turkey relations. However, the political analyst says Turkey will not hurry to take drastic measures against Moscow as it imports gas and oil from Russia. Besides, Russia is constructing a nuclear power plant in Turkey. Nor will Turkey spoil its relations with Russia for the Crimea Tatars. “Nothing will be done on an official level although non-official reports say that Turkey is sending arms to Crimean Tatars,” he said. Artak Shakaryan believes that the globe is on the threshold of a cold war, which is not beneficial for Armenia.
