SEUA Rector dismissed
Rector of the State Engineering University of Armenia, Ara Avetisyan, today submitted his resignation letter during the sitting of the SEUA Academic Board session. Later in the day, the Ministry of Education and Science issued a press release saying that by a decree of Minister Armen Ashotyan, Ara Avetisyan will be relieved of his duties as SEUA rector as of March 18, 2014. He will be replaced by Professor Hovhannes Tokmajyan, Rector of Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction. The resignation is allegedly linked to the financial abuses revealed during the recent checkups at the SEUA. Most lecturers were unaware of the change. Ara Avetisyan is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK).
