YSU offers discounts for students from hail-stricken Armavir region
Students from hail-stricken Armavir region studying at Yerevan State University (YSU) will enjoy tuition fee discounts, according to a press release of the University. The tuition fee for 83 students of the affected region has been reduced by 50 percent. The YSU intends to continue the strategy to enable the aforesaid students to benefit from discounts in the future. Vahagn Varazyan, Head of the YSU Division for Student Affairs, said they had considered the application letters of the 60 students who had applied for discounts for the rest of the 2013-2014 academic year. “The total sum of discounts meant for these students amounts AMD 20 million,” he said adding that the discount will also cover students from vulnerable families and from border villages. In his turn, Hrant Zhamharyan, Head of the Methodological Department, added that discounts will be applied to all the students from the affected communities regardless of their GPA.
