“Policemen in civilian clothes beat”
Ecologist Eghia Nersesyan was beaten on Yerevan-Aparan highway. Ecologist took part in the campaign of Ohanavan and 6 other village residents against the construction of HPP near Aparan water reservoir. Eghia Nersesyan noted in the conversation with “A1+” that he was made to be pulled into the police car, “9 policemen 4 of which were in civilian clothes, caught me and took to the car. One of them hit me at the back and I fell down. Then they tried to break my hand. Now I am well,”- said the ecologist. He also added that the villagers are now on the construction area. “They promised to remove the machines but only a machine was removed. The tubes and hole digger excavator are in the apple orchard area.” The head of Police Public relations and Media department Ashot Aharonyan told “A1+” that studies are performed.
