First round of European Men's Championship in Yerevan was rather uncompromising. 94 from 129 games have efficient end. Most of our chess players got the first scores. Particularly Armenian Champion of 2014 Tigran Kotanjyan started the championship with victory. Alas, Armenian team members Vladimir Hakobyan and Gabriel Sargsyan couldn’t win their low-rated opponents and satisfied with a draw. Today our oldest grandmaster will compete with Belorussian Vitaly Meribanov with blacks and Sargsyan will compete with Austrian Mario Shakhingery.
