Angered villagers say SHPP will not be constructed (video)
Residents of Karbi and Ohanavan villages in Aragatsotni marz have gathered to ban the construction of SHPP in their communities. The angered villagers say the construction threatens their gardens - the main source of income for many families. The governor of Aragatsotni marz, Sargis Sahakyan, visited Karbi on March 1 to assure the locals that the project would not harm their farms. However, after the villagers demanded that the constructor present the corresponding documents, the governor said, “No power station is being constructed here.” A munite later he corrected himself saying it was a power station.
