I Am Against pressure group member forced out of hall (video)
The Third International Pension Conference on pension reforms was held in Yerevan on Monday. The event was attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern, representatives of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and other organizations. In a statement issued on February 21, I AM Against pressure group signals that the organizers had not been properly informed of the conference to limit the presence of media representatives. “However, several members of the pressure group gathered outside the Elite Plaza Business Centre during the conference. One of the group members, Harutyun Aslamazyan, entered the hall to ask questions on the mandatory funded pension system in Armenia. But he was forced out of the building. In reply to the group’s question why the organizers did not wait for Constitutional Court’s ruling on the pension reform, they said the attendees summarizing the activities of the past ten years.
