A group of citizens, including representatives of initiatives and human rights activists, are now marching to the Ukrainian Embassy in Yerevan in support of the Ukrainian protesters. The group calls on the Ukrainian authorities to stop violence against people.
Anna Nikoghosyan says she stayed in Kiev for two months and was proud to see the country’s powerful civil society.
“Civic activism does not know national boundaries, and I think our citizens can succeed if they stay together,” she said.
For his part, human rights activist Artur Sakunts says the authorities in Ukraine are using violence because there is a precedent of impunity. Then he recalled the post-election clashes in Armenia on March 8, 2012. Artur Sakunts urges Europe to impose sanctions against Ukrainian authorities.
