Activists of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) were taken to a police department from Mashtots avenue earlier today.
HAK activist Sargis Gevorgyan informed A1+ from the police department that they were handing out flyers to inform about the opposition’s rally on March 1 when they were approached by plainclothes police officers who banned them from continuing the campaign.
“The police attacked us and tried to pick up flyers. Then they took us to the police department,” said the activist.
Among the detainees are Hayk Petrosyan, Areg, Sargis and Ani Gevorgyan, Sergey Gasparyan and David Vardanyan.
