Officials follow special policies in transport sphere
Henrik Navasardyan, Head of the Transport Department at the Yerevan Municipality, advises people to ask investors why they do not participate in tenders for public transport. The reason is not that the terms of competition are not profitable, he says. “Rather, there are very profitable routes served by minibuses,” he stressed. David Sanasaryan, who represents Barev Yerevan alliance in the City Council, says officials follow special policy in the sphere. “They try to prove that public transport does not bring profit, therefore they should raise the fare,” he said. The tender slated for February 14 has been cancelled over the lack of applications.
