Azerbaijan’s armed forces repeatedly breached the terms of the Olympic truce by shooting in the directions of Tavush Marz and Artsakh on Sunday night, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, a spokesman for the RA Defense Ministry, told A1+.
“The enemy violated the ceasefire across the Line of Contact with Nagorno-Karabakh and the Azerbaijani-Armenian border by firing 50 bullets. They mainly shoot during night hours, and these are mostly sporadic gunshots. We refrain from response operations. No shots were heard at the border this morning,” he said.
During the recent regional visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, the Azerbaijani side promised to observe the ceasefire agreement and avoid further escalation of the conflict particularly during the Sochi Olympics 2014.
