Two female candidates vie for top position

Elections for the Local Government Council are scheduled to be held in two communities of Sisian region on March 9. In the village of Torunik, which is about 17 km away from Sisian, the locals will elect the village head and members of the local council. Six candidates are vying for the five seats at the local council. Two women are running for the post of the village head – the acting head of Torunik, Republican Anahit Hakobyan, and non-partisan Margarita Grigoryan. The village has 38 households and over 138 residents, according to the latest census.
