“Who says that he [Nerses Ter-Vardanyan] was charged with any offense? Can you show me any evidence or document? He has not been convicted of any crime. There is not a true indication or proof of his guilt or crime,” Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said on Friday in reply to A1+. Nerses Ter-Vardanyan, former advisor to the Culture Minister who has recently been appointed Deputy Culture Minister, is said to be engaged in large-scale embezzlement and money laundering. As Pastinfo reports, the RA Prosecutor’s Office has instituted a criminal case against the advisor to the Culture Minister for abusing his powers and assisting a senior official of the same Ministry in embezzling large-scale funds. According to the same source, the case was discontinued after the money was recovered.
