Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received on Wednesday OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs (Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Jacques Faure of France, and James Warlick of the United States of America) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk. The interlocutors discussed the situation along the Line of Contact and the ensuing consequences. Referring to Azerbaijan’s provocations in the recent month, Seyran Ohanyan noted that they conflict with the provisions of the ceasefire agreements. He also stressed the importance of giving an adequate assessment to the incidents. Minister Ohanyan called on the co-chairs to intensify their efforts and involve experts to create mechanisms for investigating the incidents. The Armenian official also informed the co-chairs that the Investigation Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense launched an investigation into Azerbaijan’s attempts of crossing the Line of Contact on January 20. The parties stressed the importance of observing the ceasefire.
