“OTE”’S SHARE SALE WON’T TAKE PLACE

Today Justice Minister David Harutyunyan was informed about Trade Bank of Greece transferred 846 million and 633 thousand drams to Armenia’s budget on a commission from Greek OTE Company. Court decree was fulfilled totally and “OTE”’s debt to Armenian Government is paid off now.

“If “OTE” carried out its obligations, it would save much money ” , Ara Saghatelyan, Press secretary of Justice Minister says.

”OTE” was obliged to pay 968. 000 $ / about 542 million drams / to Armenian Government from 1999 to 2001 June. But it had to pay extra 300 million drams. 530 $ was levied from “OTE” for each day of non-paying. “OTE” paid off the debt and “OTE” share sale on November 13 won’t take place.

On November 6 Armenian Government applied to Vasilakis, acting head of “OTE” , suggesting to provide conditions to secure work of checking committee. The committee will examine “OTE” financial activity of the last year.
